Who We Are

Lidia Gallegos

Mentoring Administrative Coordinator

lidiag@gostars.org

A Pasadena native, Lidia Gallegos grew up in the area, attending all local schools until pursuing secondary education at the University of San Francisco. Whilst there, she earned her B.A. in Sociology with an emphasis in education, her M.A. in Education, and her teaching credential. After living in San Francisco for 5 years, she moved back to Southern California and taught 2nd grade for 2 years and then TK/Kindergarten for 2 years throughout the beginning of the pandemic. She loved her small school community in La Crescenta, but ultimately she wanted to expand her horizons.

Having had multiple friends go through the STARS program as youth and then continue working with them, she knew it would be an inspiring and uplifting organization to work for. In addition to acting as Stars’ Mentoring Administrative Coordinator, Lidia works at Alverno Heights Academy in Sierra Madre in their TK classroom. She is excited to connect with her city through facets she is new to, and to learn all there is to know about how great Stars is.

When Lidia is not at Alverno or Stars, she enjoys exercising and training her new Blue Heeler puppy, “Ernie”. She is looking into going back to school for either counseling or occupational therapy (both centered around youth) and is always looking to help however she can.
