Ruthenna Porterfield is a South Carolina native and attended the University of North Carolina at Charlotte where she majored in Mass Media Communications and minored in Sociology. Shortly after arriving in Los Angeles, she became a Children’s and High School Ministry teacher at Faithful Central Bible Church. Ruthenna started an on-call babysitting service called Rescued by Ruthenna. The business quickly evolved from providing childcare to preparing children for independent home life. She has gained over 20 years of experience working with children, teachers and school administrators. Today, she facilitates Bible studies for online communities.
Ruthenna also works closely with her South Carolina hometown’s Improvement Council to encourage past and present residents to get involved through exciting new community events and online engagement. She serves as a national brand ambassador for her community through interviews, meetings with prospective investors and social media.
As a crazed sports fan, Ruthenna can be found yelling at her favorite NFL or ACC college basketball teams all year long. She also enjoys attending track and field meets. You will probably see Ruthenna at a beach, botanical garden or taking scenic walks around L.A. But eating good food is one of her favorite pastimes…as long as it’s not ice cream.
