Alejandro Avila has a strong interest in community outreach and previous experience in the East Los Angeles area where he lives. His venture into helping his community began with contributing to the improvement of his own high school, Schurr High School in Montebello, by helping with various art and construction projects on campus. He has also gained experience in other non-profits by providing club leadership for elementary students who are interested in the STEM field.

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and Applied Chemistry from the University of California Riverside, which has provided him with a great understanding of numerical data and analytics. After Graduating, Alejandro joined a tech company whose focus was sports analytics and collecting live event data from clients such as the NBA, WNBA and NFL before transitioning into our Data Specialist position here at STARS. With his background in numerical analysis, Alejandro has begun creating a modern and more efficient data collection process which has allowed STARS to collect its information in a much more efficient and organized manner allowing other members of the team to contribute and be aware of their purpose in the process leading to a much more effective method of data collection.

When not focused on keeping STARS’ data in order, Alejandro focuses on self-improvement as well as always trying to improve in areas where he feels he can perform better at. He enjoys spending time with his friends and loved ones by attending sporting events, which range from NFL/NBA games to live professional wrestling matches. Being assigned as our Data Specialist, Alejandro shows eagerness in providing a well put data collection library ensuring STARS is getting the most accurate information reflecting the organization’s positive impact on the community.
