The Staff of Stars

Osvaldo Serrato was born and raised in the Antelope Valley and is proud to now serve the community as the AV Mentoring Coordinator. He earned a degree in Biochemistry from the University of California Santa Barbara, where he became heavily involved in education outreach for the youth. After college, Osvaldo returned to the AV to care for his ailing father which was a life-changing experience that deepened his connection to the community and sparked a passion for service.
During this time, Osvaldo began working as both a caregiver and a behavior technician, roles that allowed him to work closely with individuals and families in need of support. These experiences not only strengthened his interpersonal and leadership skills but also reaffirmed his desire to make a meaningful impact through mentorship and advocacy. In his new role with STARS, he is excited to help guide and empower young people in the AV, building trusting relationships and creating opportunities for growth.
Outside of work, Osvaldo is creative at heart. He enjoys drawing, animating and exploring other artistic outlets as a way to recharge and express himself. Whether through mentoring or making art, Osvaldo is committed to building connections, fostering growth, and giving back to the community that shaped him.
