Monica is a Masters of Social Work intern studying at Arizona State University. She earned her Bachelors of Arts in Psychology from Azusa Pacific University and is committed to continuing her professional growth as she continues her journey in becoming a school social worker and counselor.

Born and raised in Los Angeles County this is where she grew her passion for helping the underserved in her community, particularly children and families. Monica has been working with children and families for the past 15 years and has worked in various areas. Monica has supported children in schools to better access their education, worked with families to find and access resources for their children who have special needs as well as coached/ mentored children for various recreational sports leagues within her community. Her empathetic nature, and passion for helping others have led her to pursue a career in social work where she is dedicated to supporting individuals and meeting them where they are. As a social work intern at Stars Monica strives to create a space where clients always feel welcomed, seen, respected and heard.

Outside of her education and Stars Monica enjoys running and being outdoors. She also loves spending time with her Goddaughter and family. Lastly, she loves all things Disney and her favorite Disney movie is Ratatoullie.
