Fire Relief Special Initiatives

Sunflowers of Hope

In 2025, the Sunflowers of Hope Initiative planted joy, healing, and beauty across more than 20 sites in Pasadena, Altadena, and beyond—donating and planting over 10,000 sunflower seeds with 200 volunteer hours.
In addition to revitalizing the landscape, the initiative helped raise vital funds for Stars Fire Relief Efforts, providing mental health support, essential supplies, weekly groceries, and other critical resources to families affected by the fires.

Kibou for LA – Japan Trip

The Kibou for LA Japan Trip for students impacted by the Eaton Fires was such a valuable learning experience. Students met with the Vice Governor of Miyagi Prefecture, participated in intensive workshops, and learned about wildfire prevention and emergency planning from the Mayor of Ofunato City. These sessions offered practical strategies and a global perspective on disaster response.

Stars Strong: New Orleans LA Trip

This Stars Strong: New Orleans LA Trip will include visits to areas of New Orleans devastated by Hurricane Katrina 20 years ago. Youth will hear from New Orleans friends of Stars who rebuilt their homes after Katrina and learn how their community has walked the road of recovery.
