The Staff of Stars

Felipe was born and raised in Lincoln Heights, Los Angeles. Going into his senior year of high school, he was introduced to Jesus and to caring adult mentors. Finding faith in Jesus and having the guidance of those mentors gave Felipe the meaning and purpose that continue to shape his life today.
After graduating from high school, Felipe enrolled at East Los Angeles College and later transferred to California State University, Los Angeles, where he earned a degree in Sociology. He has remained rooted in Northeast Los Angeles and has dedicated his career to youth-serving organizations across the city.
Felipe brings to Stars extensive experience in designing and implementing programs for young people from systematically under-resourced communities, along with strong skills in community engagement, volunteer recruitment, and volunteer management. He views mentoring and discipling young people into living full, purposeful lives not only as his career but also as his life’s calling.
Outside of work, Felipe enjoys hiking with his wife and daughter, playing board games, cooking meals, reading both fiction and books on faith and justice, watching Green Bay Packers football, and playing 18 holes at golf courses around Los Angeles.
