The Staff of Stars
Stars has been a meaningful part of Whitney’s life since age 7. Growing up within the Stars community gave her lifelong friendships, a strong sense of belonging, and a passion for serving young people and families. Today, Whitney has the unique privilege of giving back to the same community that helped shape her, serving as a therapist and advocate for youth and young adults.
Throughout her time at Stars, Whitney has held multiple roles across the organization, deepening her understanding of nonprofit work and strengthening her commitment to trauma-informed, relationship-centered care. She is passionate about helping clients feel seen, supported, and empowered as they navigate life’s challenges.
Whitney earned her Bachelor of Arts in Early Child Development from California State University, Northridge in 2017 and later received her Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy with a specialization in Trauma Studies from Pacific Oaks College in 2021. She currently provides individual therapy to clients ages 15-65 within the Stars counseling program, where she continues to combine her clinical training with her deep roots in the community.
Outside of work, Whitney enjoys creating a warm and joyful home life with her husband, Loowey, their daughter Penelope, their son Cassius, and their beloved rottweilers, Grza and Nina. She also values quality time with friends and family and finds joy in the everyday moments that build connection and community.
