Who We Are

Adán was born and raised in Pasadena and graduated from UCLA, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in English with an emphasis in Creative Writing. After working for several years in various areas of film and television production, Adán felt called to give back to society in a way that would be more meaningful to him. On a soul-searching road trip to Vancouver, BC, he felt guided to pursue a career in teaching and went on to complete a human development-based teacher education program at Pacific Oaks College, where, interestingly enough, he also began school as a child. Adán joined the Stars Team in August of 2021. The commands to “Love one another, just as I have loved you” and to “love your neighbor as yourself” focus and guide Adán in his role as Director of Mentoring Initiatives. He looks forward to expanding the Stars Mentoring program into Pasadena’s neighboring communities in the San Gabriel Valley.

For 5 years Adán lived in Turkey, where he was an active member of the Samsun Protestan Kilesesi, or the Protestant Church of Samsun. Currently and locally, Adán attends All Saints Church online. Adán has traveled extensively to about 25 countries around the world. He enjoys reading, visits to the beach and mountains, studying foreign languages, taking road trips, and spending lots of quality time with his beautiful circle of friends and family.
