Who We Are
Cassandra Vieyra was born and raised in El Sereno, California. Currently, Cassandra is a student at the Cal State LA majoring in Social Work. She joins the Stars team as a BSW internship and is excited to learn from the team and build connections with the communities the organization serves. As a first-generation student, Cassandra is excited and focused on graduating this upcoming May and looks forward to continue serving her community.
In her spare time, Cassandra enjoys spending time with her siblings and family. She has a golden retriever named River who loves going swimming and eating snacks. Cassandra was a cheerleader for over 10 years at El Sereno Park. She also cheered for an all-star team in City Terrace and later on cheered for her high school, Mountain View High School in South El Monte. Cassandra grew up going to Zacatecas, Mexico every summer to spend time on her grandparents ranch. While there, she fell in love with horseback riding and continues to horseback ride with her mom and stepdad. Cassandra loves to listen to music, try new coffee shops, and spend time with her friends.
