Who We Are

Keanu Monterroso is a North West Pasadena native. Since high school, Keanu has partnered with other non-profits in the community and eventually co-directed Summer camps for students in the PUSD area with Stars and Northwest Neighbors. In 2019, he graduated from Merrimack College, a private 4-year institution in Massachusetts, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice and Criminology.

After graduation, Keanu worked in the IT field as a Help Desk Engineer. Then when the COVID pandemic occurred, he began working as a Molecular Lab Technologist based in LA. Although he enjoyed working in the sciences, he always longed to work in his community. With this thought, he wanted to return to Pasadena where he feels most connected to. Keanu is extremely excited to be joining the Stars team as Director of Operations and cannot wait to utilize his skills to further support Stars.

Outside of Stars, Keanu enjoys watching anime, playing video games, organizing, and spending time with his sons (4 cats) and girlfriend. Fun Fact: Keanu hopes to one day travel to Japan.
