Who We Are

Whitney has been around and involved with the Stars program since she was in the 2nd grade. Growing up around the program she made lifelong friends who she gets to serve alongside as a staff member now. Whitney’s desire to work with students in multiple capacities has been fulfilled during her time at Stars in the after school setting and now as a therapist. Whitney has held multiple roles in Stars and her desire to grow and learn more about non-profit work and how to better serve her community is put in to practice each day. 

Whitney graduated from California State University, Northridge in May of 2017 with her BA in Early Child Development. She received her MA in Marriage and Family Therapy with a specialization in Trauma studies, here in Pasadena at Pacific Oaks College in May of 2021. She is putting her AMFT into practice within our Stars community and does individual therapy with high school students and young adults within our counseling program.

Aside from enjoying her work with children inside and outside of Stars, Whitney enjoys making her house a home with her fiance Loowey, their daughter Penelope, and their rotties Grza and Nina. She also enjoys spending her free time with friends and family.
